Police Misconduct

The police are supposed to protect us and make us feel safe. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes the people we have entrusted with authority abuse it. Some examples of police misconduct include excessive force, false arrest, malicious prosecution, and retaliation for exercising first amendment rights. Police officers are immune from many laws which apply to other citizens and have broad power to carry out their duties. Holding them responsible in court can be very difficult. Our office is the foremost litigator of police misconduct cases in the region and we will fight to bring justice to those who abuse their official power.
